"Not me!" Monday

Thank goodness Stellan is out of the hospital and back at home with his many small siblings! Though my "Not me! Monday" posts were on hiatus while he and his mama, host of this weekly carnival, were in the hospital, I was saving up my list of things I absolutely positively did not do.

I did NOT panic at the thought of spending ALL day, EVERY day with my kids over their Spring Break.

I did NOT fall asleep at 8:30, before Jack and Logan were even asleep. (Sorry Scott!)

I did NOT find more that $50 worth of returnable Target merchandise around my house. That would be a disgusting display of my addiction (to all things Target).

You may have heard the phrase, "Parenting is like being pecked to death by chickens." Well, at one point on a crazy overwhelming day, I did NOT look down at my two children and actually "see" them as pecking chickens.

I do NOT encourage my children to play "secret agent" solely because they always whisper when they play it.

I can NOT be found siting on the floor of my bathroom or on a stool in the kitchen reading blogs.

I am a perfect wife and mama. I'd never do things like that.

  1. What a great post. This weekend I did NOT hide out in the garage sneaking in a chocolate bar. I did NOT hide the Yo Gabba Gabba Dvd and say to R. that it went for a walk. I did make a pretty good chili though. :)

  9. I did not relate to falling asleep before my kids. I did not relate to encouraging my kids to play a game that would keep them quiet. (Ours is Freeze). I did not go to my room, climb into bed and cover myself competely with the blanket to get away from everyone in the house. Hi from the SITStahood.

  10. Amen to the pecking chickens. Somedays I feel like I have woodpeckers...relentless. But we love them anyways.
I will read blogs anywhere too!

  12. At least you were trying to be fun with "secret agent". When the kids were little we were much more obvious with the "quiet game"...the object was to see who could be quiet the longest. LOL!

But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
