Random bits of randomness

Am I insane?

Lately I've felt very, very behind on writing blog posts but even more so on reading your blogs and commenting. As Mimi would say, I'm feeling very blogged down.

So I must be insane to consider joining Facebook and/or Twitter. Why do I need to add more instant technology to my life when I'm already feeling like I'm failing at what I've got?

I've taught the boys that it is not nice to tease. So it's ironic that we have an ant farm on the dinner table, right?

Unusual centerpiece, huh? Poor little ants want our dinner but all they have to eat is that weird blue gel.

Seems weird to me but the boys love, love, love balsamic vinegar. Logan, if given the chance, will dip his hand in the container and then stick it in his mouth. Yummy!

Is there anything better than siblings getting along?
The boys are reading their Lego magazine together.

  1. Wow, they use gel now for ant farms. I remember my cousin had one and it had sand in it.

    Have a great night!

  3. I love that they are watching the ants while they are eating. I cant believe you bought an ant farm!!!

  4. My son wants an ant farm. I'm just paranoid that it'll break and ants will be all over my house.

Twitter is fun! I'm a Twit as WhisperAmber.

  7. Love the pictures of the boys, wish I could get my two to sit down longer than two minutes side by side without someone getting hurt.

I seem to take my blogging in spurts. Some weeks I blog everyday and then I go a week without it.

Ant farm: I could not have one in my house it would totaly freak me out :)

  8. I can't seem to figure out the Twit thing... it's not for me. As for Facebook I do love it. I have found so many "missing" friends from my past from camp, high school and college. I do love it... and am only slightly less addicted than I am to blogging!

  9. Great random post!!

You'll love Twitter and really, I don't think it wastes too much time, I just have it up with everything else and check it and tweet randomly. It's fun! As for facebook, I used to have one and didn't like it, but I know a lot who do. I'm more of a myspace gal.

I'm just LOVIN' the ant farm on the table, my boys would totally want one if they saw that!

The picture of them together is so sweet! My oldest two love Lego magazine too!

  10. Consumed by blogging? I never got that vibe from you... :) I know what you mean...I am supposed to be cleaning, showering, feeding my child...oh, wait, I have 2 children! ha ha...kidding {slightly} I love catching up with everyone, but sometimes we need to back away from the computer!

Love the pics...poor ants...I wonder what that blue stuff tastes like? Maybe like balsamic vinegar or cream of tartar! {I can't believe Entertaining Mom didn't mention that!} Super adorable boys, as always! Have a great weekend!

  13. I've been blogged down this week too. I don't know why exactly, but I'm blaming the extra day off. I just haven't gotten around to commenting much. At. All.

So I'm trying to catch up today. :)

  14. I feel your pain. I am so blogged down these days. I have a facebook account but never use it...not even touching Twitter. Not good with change.
Yes, there is nothing better than siblings gettting along. Sweet music to my ears for sure.

  15. One of my sons got one of those ant farms a year ago. Aren't they fascinating? I loved watching those ants tunnel through that gel.

  16. I think its just "that" time of year. End of school craziness, start of summer. I'm behind too. And not so inspired. I find myself on the computer researching instead of blogging.

  17. Hey Carey! Thanks for stopping by. I just hope my ants stay outside and don't come in. And I wish that my two girls were getting along as well as your boys are. They've been fighting all day. Have a great weekend.

  18. Three things:

    1) As skeeved out as I am by ants, I've still always wanted an ant farm. Go figure.

    2) Your boys are freakin adorable!

    3) Thanks for the tip re: pureed butternut. I will absolutely look for that the next time...

    Have a great weekend!

  19. I am chuckling at you teasing the ants. That's funny. I am impressed, too. I have resisted getting an ant farm. For some reason, it just doesn't seem right to me. My boys would love it, though. That picture of your boys sitting so nicely simply makes me jealous.

  20. I could so step into your shoes! I love it when the kids get along, am totally behind on blog commenting, think an ant farm on the dining room table would be cool and adore balsamic vinegar. Plus I'm annoyed that I don't know how to twitter but WTF do I need it for?

  21. Blogged down! That's how I feel lately, too. I like that phrase. :)

The ant farm is possibly the coolest centerpiece I've ever seen.

  22. Yeap, I agree with Ronnica. You are a tease and I love that in you!!

  23. I did the twitter thing for a couple of weeks and then gave it up because I just couldn't keep up with the 'followers' over there without cutting into my blogging time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Don't you love that Lego magazine? My kids LOVE it and read it from front to back. Of course, that leads to the "I want... " statements! I've never seen a blue gel food for ants to live in. I'll have to investigate that. I promise you though... it won't be on the table. LOL!

  25. That's so great that they get along - and EW to the ants! Sorry Aiden no ants for you. :) I am hoping he's more a furry pet sort of boy, I'll even take the smelly hamster cage over slimey or crawly. hehe.

I left you an award on my blog!

  26. Getting blogged down is easy to do. It happens to me ALL the time. I also twitter and have facebook and often wonder why. I can't keep up with one much less the others. Ugh...

Those boys of yours... so precious!

  27. I can relate to being 'blogged down', I'm also "emailed down". It's been pretty good all year long, but lately, with Josh's ballet schedule and my photography business picking up for the summer, it's been crazier than usual. Three more weeks, and I'm taking a 6 week leave from work, just in time for the kids' last day of school. Not a moment too soon, I am feeling completely burned out!!

Love the ant farm, doesn't bother me at all that it's on the kitchen table... I live in a Zoo, what can I say? I think it's really neat, actually, and when we move, if we downsize to just the dog and the cat (Brandon's friend will be inheriting the birds from us), we may want to add a cool ant farm too! :o)

Sweet pic of the boys... and even though this is a post from a few days ago, wanted to say that I love your new blog design (I loved the former design too!)

Yeah! I love comments! Feel free to leave me one (or two or three).
But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
