Thank goodness Stellan is out of the hospital and back at home with his many small siblings! Though my "Not me! Monday" posts were on hiatus while he and his mama, host of this weekly carnival, were in the hospital, I was saving up my list of things I absolutely positively did not do.
I did NOT panic at the thought of spending ALL day, EVERY day with my kids over their Spring Break.
I did NOT fall asleep at 8:30, before Jack and Logan were even asleep. (Sorry Scott!)
I did NOT find more that $50 worth of returnable Target merchandise around my house. That would be a disgusting display of my addiction (to all things Target).
You may have heard the phrase, "Parenting is like being pecked to death by chickens." Well, at one point on a crazy overwhelming day, I did NOT look down at my two children and actually "see" them as pecking chickens.
I do NOT encourage my children to play "secret agent" solely because they always whisper when they play it.
I can NOT be found siting on the floor of my bathroom or on a stool in the kitchen reading blogs.
I am a perfect wife and mama. I'd never do things like that.
Visit MckMama for more "Not me!" Monday posts.
What a great post. This weekend I did NOT hide out in the garage sneaking in a chocolate bar. I did NOT hide the Yo Gabba Gabba Dvd and say to R. that it went for a walk. I did make a pretty good chili though. :)ReplyDelete
Carey you are so funny! I always have looked forward to your NMM's. I have been on hiatus from mine as well. Just couldnt bring myself to do it with Stellan in the hospital.ReplyDelete
Have a great week!
You are a hoot! Thanks for chasing the Monday blues away. You're the greatest!!ReplyDelete
I'm howling over here!!!ReplyDelete
This is great! This weekend I did NOT "lose" part of our daughter elephant game cuz I was NOT sick of playing it 10,000 times. Great blog!ReplyDelete
LOL! The secret agent game sounds perfect! And you have super-adorable little 'chickens'! Have a great Monday!ReplyDelete
The magnet I have on my fridge right now says, "Raising teenagers is like nailing Jello to a tree." It's right. Somtimes I miss my chickens!ReplyDelete
what a clever idea. I laughed pretty hard at these as I can relate way too easily!!ReplyDelete
Glad you are back with your NMM's, I did a couple then when things were not going well felt that maybe I hould quituntil thinkgs got bettr, it is a wonderful idea. And yes I can see you on the in the bathroom reading blogs, Why? becaue I hide out in mine too...ReplyDelete
I did not relate to falling asleep before my kids. I did not relate to encouraging my kids to play a game that would keep them quiet. (Ours is Freeze). I did not go to my room, climb into bed and cover myself competely with the blanket to get away from everyone in the house. Hi from the SITStahood.ReplyDelete
Amen to the pecking chickens. Somedays I feel like I have woodpeckers...relentless. But we love them anyways.ReplyDelete
I will read blogs anywhere too!
you made me laugh out loud! pecking at chickens, too funny! Can I please borrow the secret agent game? =)ReplyDelete
At least you were trying to be fun with "secret agent". When the kids were little we were much more obvious with the "quiet game"...the object was to see who could be quiet the longest. LOL!ReplyDelete
LOL What a fun alternative to a meme! Stopping by from SITS to say hi, your blog is so cute!ReplyDelete
But if you return all that to Target, you can buy more stuff, right? I mean, you've already spent the money!ReplyDelete
I did not fall asleep in my bed while my 21 month old roamed my bedroom at 5:00 in the morning. I would NEVER do that!ReplyDelete
I am so NOT Happy that Stellan is recovering! Yeah for McMamma Clan!! I am so NOT Jealous you got to go to sleep early, So NOT Jealous!!ReplyDelete
(Liar, liar, pants on Fire)
I need to teach my kids the secret agent game! LOLReplyDelete
On the bathroom floor! That's classic, Carrie. Seriously classic, and if my bathroom was big enough for me AND my laptop, I'd hide in there, too.ReplyDelete
Love the secret agent game....perfect for boys!!!ReplyDelete
Yes and I too can be found on the bathroom floor reading blogs....shhhhh, you are letting the secret out about our quiet time!! LOL
you 'fessed up about the target return earlier, but it's still really funny!ReplyDelete
I am not so upset that I had to link so late today because it is Doctor day for me. I would not be that pathetic...ReplyDelete
I think my kids will have to play secret agent tonight! Don't worry I'm perfect too ;)! Love your honesty!ReplyDelete
You had me at the chicken pecking thing. Now, I will see little chickens running amuck in my home.ReplyDelete
It's all your fault.
