The other side of the camera - 2/52

Forever In Blue Jeans

I'm participating in what I think is a really smart weekly challenge hosted by Carin at Forever in Blue Jeans. It seems like mamas spend an awful lot of time behind the camera. The idea of this challenge is for mamas to get on the other side of the camera in at least one photo a week.

When my boys grow up they'll inherit hundreds of thousands of photos taken from their childhood, but how many of those will show their mama? At least for this year I can answer 52!

Last week I realized that though I had been writing this blog for 2 1/2 months (and posted 55 times) I had never posted a photo of me.

This week I can't believe that I am actually posting this photo. I don't think I've ever seen one less flattering of myself.

Jack and I are pretending to be robots. We are wearing Wall-e masks and step-stools. Don't be hating 'cause you can't carry off a step-stool like me!

I have to leave you with a cuter photo. Here Jack and Logan are my little robots!

  4. OH my word. That is hysterical and yet the memories you have just created with your boys sets you back in the running for MOTY. You should see a picture of me I posted on my blog back when I started...squeezing my big head in my sons batting helmet...wasn't pretty, but it is proof mommy played with him and that is all the matters. Great photos! I love them both...and ya'll are very creative:)

  6. This is fantastic, for soooooooo many reasons. This will probably be one of their favorite pictures when they're older, because it will bring back memories of the events that led you to the MOTY podium!!! You're such a fantastic mom. They're very blessed, those lil' boys.

  14. This is a great idea, although I like being behind the camera because it gives me a great excuse to avoid the unflattering photos. But i do think there is something to be said for having pics of our Mamas when we r older and Mama will one day not be there (unfortunately). Your oics are cute and your playtime is quite imaginative.

  17. Whatta mom! That's so great...maybe I'll set a smaller goal at first, like once a month? okay, that's kinda wimpy...maybe twice a month? thanks for the challenge...I do think it's important that the kids have pics of me from when they were young.

Yeah! I love comments! Feel free to leave me one (or two or three).
But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
