"Not me!" Monday

The competition is getting fierce for the MOTYs (Mama of the Year Awards). As usual I was a perfect wife and mother (and daughter and friend) this week. Here are just a few examples of my exemplary mothering showcasing why I deserve this completely fictional prestigious award:

In a desperate effort to keep the family from going stir-crazy at home, I did NOT drag them to the beach though it was overcast and 56 degrees.

I did NOT let Logan eat so much T@rget popcorn right before dinner that he threw up as soon as we parked the car at the restaurant. I did NOT then say, "Well, at least now he has room in his belly to eat dinner!"

When writing a post about how Scott and I started our relationship, I did NOT get lots of major a few minor details wrong.

I am NOT ridiculously behind on updating the monthly photo blog I maintain because I'm blogging cleaning the house, doing laundry, washing the dishes and spending tons of quality time with my boys.

I did NOT "pretend" to not hear the boys arguing because I was "busy" writing an email. I did NOT actually think to myself, "Well, it's time they (a three year old and two year old) learned valuable life lessons about sharing and negotiations."

  1. I DID NOT pretend to ignore my boys too, when they were fighting for the bigger slice of pizza as I WAS NOT reading your comment.

  5. Hye if there's no blood, it's not really a fight :)
I ignore it too and have since they were about that age, until I hear the whack or the crying. I figure untilt hat point I'm beating my head against the wall anyway.

  6. Well, I did give my granddaughter Girl Scout cookies for breakfast. Not many just two. But I am a grandma I can do stuff mom's can't do.:)
    Don't tell her mother.

  7. My children become sweet little angels when I am blogging and never interrupt, whine, complain, scream, fight, or beg...yes, I am imagining all this...back to my dream world :) Loved your Not Me's!

  8. Kids? Ignore them? All the time! How else could I get anything done? I think one has been hounding me for a temporary tattoo all day but I have yet to comply. I will...eventually.

  9. I like how you turned ignoring the boys into an educational experience for them! Love it!

  10. Sometimes you just gotta let them duke it out. LOL I am learning that more now that the kids are older and they still tattle. Ugh.
Hope Logan feels better after emptying his belly.

Yeah! I love comments! Feel free to leave me one (or two or three).
But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
