Silly boys!

Jack has become very susceptible to advertising. When he's watching Nickelodeon, I frequently get asked to pretty please purchase remote control helicopters and cars that will drive upside down.

But today, he threw me for a loop...

"Mama, can we get one of those?," he says gesturing to the TV.

"What? The automatic toothpaste dispenser?"

"Yeah! I really want one," Jack says wistfully.

I'm caught a bit off guard so I chuckle and say, "Um, well, honey, are you too lazy to squeeze your own toothpaste?"

"But it saves time!"

"If we were to get an automatic toothpaste dispenser, what would you do with all your extra free time?"

"Brush my teeth!"

Touche...

Logan is all about invading my personal space. The best way I can to describe it is to say that if he could climb back in my womb, he would. He's not clingy per se. He's just really into me, I guess.

He doesn't want to just sleep in the same bed as me. He wants to share my pillow and (try to) wrap both of his short little arms around my neck while I sleep. This means we generally sleep nose to nose.

He doesn't just want to sit next to me. He wants to climb up me and perch on my head and shoulders like a little monkey while watching TV.

Logan says, "Mama, move the 'puter. I want to get on!"
I look at him quizzically as I push my laptop to the side, "Huh? Get on what?"
"Get on you!," he says with a grin.

  3. Love the automatic toothpaste dispenser! I think that's one of the silliest things I've ever heard!

I used to have a clingy one. I called him my barnacle boy. He's 13 now, but still happily huggy.

  4. LOL! My kids want the exact same toothpaste dispenser! Alex would really love the shiny, chrome-looking one! "It will NOT make a mess!" ha ha! Well, it might not, but my kids still will, as they spit the toothpaste all over everything! Your descriptions crack me up!
    Love the picture!

  5. Let Logan be as close for as long as he wants they grow up fast and then you will have to beg for a little close time. Love the pictures!

  11. My youngest son must be touching some part of my body at all times....all times. We also sleep nose to nose. He's 3 and my oldest son is 20 so I know how fast time can fly and try not to let it get to me too much!

  12. I have been having a lot of talks with Ate about intruding into my space, lately. When I am this pregnant, I can not take anything, or anyone extra placing their chubby little feet across my belly. He understands space to mean "one cushion over" on the couch, but when we r not on the couch he says, "there are no cushions Mommy, so u don't need space."

  13. oh my goodness! how adorable and fun! i read somewhere that the years fly by when they are this age, but the days drag on! (was that a comment you wrote once?) how true. it is so good to be able to step back and view our lives from a better perspective!

  15. Somehow, I can see Logan wrapping his little arms around you and swiping the pillow when you least expect it, and Jack will prob brush his teeth for 30 seconds longer...but kids are such real joy. they are real, it is about what they are feeling at the moment. too soon Logan will not want to do those things anymore. And it is sad. Denise used to tell me that she awanted to live with me forever, she was never ever going to leave me. Then that wedding thing happened, how soon they forget! :)
And congrats, I understand you won another giveaway on Joan of all trade, this must be your week..

  19. my middle son is 10 and still would climb back where he came from if I would let him. (OK that really sounded bad but you understand what I mean) The closer he is to me the better and he doesn't care who is watching.

  20. I'm thinking the toothpaste dispenser is a must have! My kids like to over squeeze the tube and so a tube that should have lasted a month...only last 3 days. I tell my 5 year old regularly that the sink does not have teeth and therefore does not need a lot of toothpaste to brush its teeth..

Yeah! I love comments! Feel free to leave me one (or two or three).
But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
