Jack is 4. None of his friends are still napping. Logan is not quite 3. None of his friends are still napping. (In fact all of the kids we know stopped napping by 2 1/2 at the very latest.)
But thankfully, my boys go down like clockwork. Every weekday after school, we stay on the playground until almost 2 o'clock. I wash the boys up in the rec center bathroom and put them in the car. I hand them each 2 animal crackers and turn on Dan Zanes' Jamaica Farewell. I start driving towards home and my
Once home I transfer them to their beds where, if I'm very very lucky, they will stay until 4 o'clock. Usually one of them is up after an hour. And sometimes one of them will wake up as I transfer them and won't fall back asleep.
But they seem to need their naps...and so, so do I.

Footnote #1: I totally jinxed myself writing this. Today Logan wouldn't go back to sleep after I moved him and Jack slept for less than an hour!
Footnote #2: Yes, I realize it's odd to post a Wordful Wednesday post on Tuesday but I lost all the photos I was planning for today's post. Hopefully, Scott can work his magic and recover them and I'll get today's post up tomorrow.
Those pics are priceless Carey!
ReplyDeleteTaylor hasnt had a nap since she started school but had one all the way up until she did. She could still use one now if she could get it. Will still gets a nap and he is 2 1/2. He will just pass out after lunch no matter what he is allowed to do. Boy just loves to sleep I guess. LOL
Hope all is well,
Tim
My sons both napped until they were 3 1/2. Now they have "rest time" where I read to them, they read to themselves in bed for 20 minutes and then play quietly by themselves for 20 minutes. It's not naps but I'll take what ever I can get now days :) Here form sits!
ReplyDeleteThose little sleepers are so very cute! My kids never made the transfer from car to bed without waking up. You're so lucky!
ReplyDeleteJillian napped until she was about 4, it was the best thing ever. Those pictures are so precious, your boys are beautiful. Why don't adults look as cute when they're sleeping?

ENJOY those lolli pop sleeping cheeks girl, they don't last forever, GOD I wish they did!!
I loved these pictures. They are precious. Loved the "bucket" head, lol! When my kids gave up naps I trained them to stay in their rooms and have a quiet time during that time.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't have to sleep but they had to stay in there and play with their toys. Taught them how to play by themselves and gave me some extra time!
I don't have much on homeschooling on my blog but you can email me at momstheword2008@hotmail.com if you ever think about doing it and have questions.
