I haven't really written anything about Denise's (from There is Always Room for One More) visit. I guess since she was the mama running away from home I felt like it was her story to tell more than mine. But since she is having computer difficulties and is off on another adventure currently, maybe I could dish just a little.
Scott was a little concerned about having a perfect stranger stay with us. But we figured Denise wouldn't brave a several hour flight with her youngest, Emma, just to kill us.
Once we met her it was clear that our family had nothing to worry about. Denise is funny, easy-going and so fun to be around. Emma is such a sweet charismatic little girl.
Since we had my crazy boys with us most of the time, we kept it low-key and kid-friendly...the beach, the playground, window shopping. I had a great time hanging out with her and getting to know her better. I consider myself lucky to have made a friend through blogging...a friend that I was able to meet in real life and will hopefully continue to know.
I wish I had written this post yesterday so I could easily post some pics...but, as you'll read below, I'm having a bit of computer trouble.

Just a reminder that I host Tuesday's Tips for Summer Survival. Every week I share a kid-friendly tip and ask others to link up their crafts, outdoor fun, cooking, outings, etc. The goal is to end up on the other side of this summer with what little sanity we had when we started. So far we've had some amazing ideas and we are only a third of the way through summer. Soon, I hope to get a recap post up of what we've got so far...

But, my little HP Mini is being sent back to HP because something is wrong with the speaker...quite honestly, I think the boys did something to it...but don't tell HP that. So I'm using my old enormous laptop which was replaced by the Mini because it would randomly turn itself off. (And the laptop knows I'm speaking ill of it because it just crashed AGAIN!) This does not bode well for my blog slacking...
Thank goodness for autosave on Blogger...my laptop just crashed again! I guess the fact that I'm actually posting this speaks to my persistence...
You have not been the only slacker. I am just now catching up on about a weeks worth of post. I am ashamed *bows head*
ReplyDeletethank goodness you have a backup laptop! my summer survival tip is to take the car and run! (See how I said nothing whatsoever about the kids or bringing them along!) I met a fellow blogger last week too. We had a great time. The kids had a great time. And then my mother ruined it by asking if I was setting such a good example to my kids by meeting people over the internet?! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only slacker. I am finding I just don't have enough time for everything. But I do enjoy what you do post do don't stop.
ReplyDeleteThanks for plug, now you officially in the giveway.. except I may call it off for lack of interest. I am so glad you weren't murdered or anything. I thought you might die of laughter, Denise is so funny! Did you do the video for Amazing Race? You are not a slacker, just busy..but very much missed!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that both of you are having computer issues just when we are waiting for pictures! LOL!
ReplyDeleteAt least you had a good visit & she didn't kill you guys with an ax.
I've been a semi-slacker, still read, commenting/posting is down cause I'm busier than you know what. xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad the visit went great and no one was killed :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have met a blogging friend. I met one this week too and will meet 5 on Tuesday night. So exciting. So glad the visit was great. sorry about your computer. Hope it is better soon. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteI've also been a slacker since I'm currently on vacation. I try to get on when I can.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you got to meet another blogger!
I was soooo looking forward to the pics!!
ReplyDeleteHehe, so far I've never slacked, er well not yet!!
How fun Carey!!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your comment about the plane ride and killing you!
I would be nervous too! And your husband is very kind for saying yes even before you met her!
Can't wait to see the pictures, and I hope your laptop gets fixed soon!!
OH..and did you find out if your dad knew my dad?
How fun is that? Your blogging friend flew to meet you? That's awesome! I can't wait to hear more.
ReplyDeleteSummer is a hard time to blog, I think. Life happens and then you're tired.
Hope you get your laptop back quickly. Computers crashing can be so annoying.
I just love that ya'll connected enough through the blogs to want to meet up in real life and get to know one another better. So cool!
ReplyDeleteWhew! I'm glad that Denise's visit went well! I'm quite jealous that you've met up with a blogger IRL. :)
ReplyDeleteWell thank G-d that worked out.
ReplyDeleteSummer... it's a good time to be a slacker! I think we are all a bit guilty of that especially during these months. Certainly nothing wrong with it either.
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you've met a blogger in RL. I'm a bit jealous while I still wait for my opportunity. I think it'll be here on July 20. Melanie from Better Than Normal... can't wait. As for you, I'll be in San Diego area in August. Anywhere close to you?
