A Deliberate 2013

I'm not much for New Years resolutions.  I have a follow-through problem in general so resolutions are just setting myself up for failure.  In reading a few blogs in December, I noticed some moms picking a word for the new year.  After some thought I was able to come up with one word that sums up what I hope and want for the year for my family.  Deliberate.

As in, deliberate parenting.  Deliberate eating.  Deliberate activities.  Deliberate home.  Deliberate living.

Deliberate means to carefully weigh or consider, to study, intentional...  So, I have been trying to make very deliberate decisions.  We have gone gluten-free to see if it helps with mood and temperament in all of us.  We have plans to purge tons of unneeded and wanted things from our home.  We are scheduling weekend plans so we are more productive.  And we've started a new reward system so the boys are getting along better and spending less time in front of a screen.

So we are only two weeks into the new year, but so far, so good.  Let's just see if I can keep the momentum...one week at a time.

Yeah! I love comments! Feel free to leave me one (or two or three).
But remember what your mama said..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Thanks!
